Collagen Explained

Collagen is actually already produced naturally in our bodies. It's the main protein that makes up the structure of our connective tissue. It's most abundant in our skin, bones, tissues and tendons. Although it occurs organically, sometimes people have reduced levels of collagen, especially as they age. And when levels of collagen drop, the skin can sag and wrinkle. There are several environmental factors that play into the appearance of the skin, including pollution, smoking and diet. Many people have started using marine collagen-based products to ensure their skin remains firm and soft, in spite of these factors and the natural ageing process.

Benefits of long term use of Kollo liquid marine collagen Drink

I have been taking a daily dose of collagen now for 1-2 years. My main motivation post menopause was to reduce impact of aging process on my skin, eyes and joints. Maximum improvement was noted within first 3-6 months of use, continued use has maintained positive improvements achieved.

My beautician asked me what I had been doing, saying keep it up, as she noted improvement to skin appearance and texture. The niggle in my right hip has almost disappeared, and stiffness in lumber spine significantly reduced. Aged 63 I did not expect miracles, reversing time, but I have to say I will continue to use this product as noticeable improvements experienced for me personally. Highly recommend.

Why you need to be a bit selfish this Christmas by Suzy Reading

Why you need to be a bit selfish this Christmas by Suzy Reading

With the festive season around the corner and plans gaining pace, I have an unconventional invitation for you... I think it is time for you to be a bit selfish. Selfish.  Repeat the word a few times, roll it around in your mouth, and you can hear the venom with which this word is usually spoken. Selfish. Is there a harsher criticism? A less desirable trait?  Can you feel yourself recoil? We all know someone miserly, greedy, uncaring, self-centred… Who in their right mind would want to be like them? So let me stop you right there. That’s not what this invitation is about. We need to dispel the widely accepted myths about 'selfishness'. It is time we challenge everything we’ve learnt about selflessness.  Time and time again, when I hear people talk about feeling selfish, it is when they are resting, relaxing or prioritising an early night, when they say...

Why Consistency Matters in Your Collagen Routine

Why Consistency Matters in Your Collagen Routine

Why Consistency Matters in Your Collagen Routine If there’s one thing that determines the success of your collagen journey, it’s not your age, your diet, or even the brand you choose - it’s consistency. Collagen isn’t a “take it once and feel transformed” type of supplement. It’s more like brushing your teeth, drinking water, or getting enough sleep - small, daily habits that create lasting, visible change over time. Here’s why staying consistent matters so much, and how to make your collagen routine truly stick. The Science Behind Daily Supplementation Collagen is a structural protein that provides strength and elasticity to your skin, joints, muscles, and bones. However, your body doesn’t store collagen - it continuously breaks it down and rebuilds it. From your mid-twenties onward, you lose around 1% of your natural collagen per year, and factors such as sun exposure, stress, poor diet, and hormonal changes can accelerate that...

What’s Happening Internally When You Take Collagen

What’s Happening Internally When You Take Collagen Every time you tear open your Kollo Health sachet and sip that refreshing liquid, an incredible biological process begins inside your body. It’s more than a beauty ritual - it’s a science-backed act of nourishment that supports your skin, joints, and overall wellbeing from within. Here’s what’s really happening when you take collagen - and why your body loves it so much. Step 1: Absorption and Circulation Kollo’s liquid marine collagen is composed of hydrolysed collagen peptides, which means the long protein chains have been broken down into smaller, more digestible fragments. When you drink your daily dose, these peptides are quickly absorbed through the small intestine and enter your bloodstream, usually within hours. Because they’re already in a liquid form, the absorption rate is much higher than traditional tablets or powders. From there, your body circulates these peptides throughout your system, delivering them to...

When you think of what it takes to play good golf - powerful swings, strong joints, steady balance, sharp focus - it’s not just technique, clubs or hours on the green. It’s about having a body that supports you: resilient joints, quick recovery, energy, and yes, even skin, hair and nails that hold up when you’re out in the sun. That’s where our Kollo Premium Marine Collagen and Meno Support come in. As our co-founder Jenni Falconer knows well (she’s out there on the fairways herself), the benefits go far beyond beauty. What’s the Deal with Collagen and Golf? Here are some of the key ways collagen supports golfers, and sporty people in general: 1. Joint Health, Pain Reduction and Recovery - Every swing puts stress on shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees and spine. Why Collagen Becomes Essential After 25 – And How to Support It

Why Collagen Becomes Essential After 25 – And How to Support It

IntroductionCollagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, forming the structural framework for skin, joints, muscles, tendons, and even blood vessels. From the age of 25, natural collagen production begins to decline at a rate of approximately 1–1.5% per year. This gradual reduction is a key contributor to visible signs of ageing, joint stiffness, and slower recovery from exercise or injury. Supporting collagen levels from this stage of life can help maintain vitality, resilience, and long-term health. What Is Collagen? Collagen is a fibrous protein made primarily from amino acids such as glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. It acts as a scaffold for connective tissues and contributes to: Skin elasticity and hydration Joint lubrication and mobility Bone strength and structure Muscle repair and performance There are more than 20 types of collagen, but Type I collagen (used in Kollo) makes up over 90% of the collagen in the human...

Human, not machine: the truth about resilience and the art of pacing yourself

By Suzy Reading As we navigate the summer squeeze, Chartered Psychologist and author of Rest to Reset, Suzy Reading, shares a refreshing take on resilience and helps you find a compassionate pace. Living in a time where we all have such an acute awareness of the struggles of other people in the world around us, have you found yourself thinking… "I should be more resilient"? You're not alone. This is a common theme in my therapy room right now: so many people feeling that they should be stronger, coping better, when in fact what they're experiencing is a normal and natural response to modern life. Rather than judgment and pushing harder, we need to rejig our perceptions of resilience itself; we need to give ourselves permission to be human, adjusting our pace and expectations of self accordingly. This comprehensive guide outlines the most common pitfalls and provides actionable strategies to optimize your collagen supplementation routine. What Are Collagen Supplements? What Age Should you Start Taking Collagen

Collagen, the most abundant protein in the human body, plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy skin, joints, bones, and connective tissue. As we age, our natural collagen production declines, leading to visible signs of aging and decreased structural support throughout the body. Understanding when to start taking collagen supplements can help you maintain optimal health and appearance throughout your life. This comprehensive guide explores the ideal age to begin collagen supplementation and how to maximize its benefits for your long-term wellness. How Aging Increases Your Body’s Need for Collagen The relationship between aging and collagen production is one of the most significant factors in how we age both internally and externally. From our mid-twenties onward, our bodies begin producing approximately 1% less collagen each year. This gradual decline accelerates as we enter our thirties and forties, creating a cumulative effect that becomes increasingly noticeable over time. Natural collagen production...

Marine Collagen and Collagen Peptides: How Are They Different?

When it comes to collagen supplementation, two terms frequently appear in health and wellness discussions: marine collagen and collagen peptides. While both offer impressive benefits for skin health, joint support, and overall wellness, understanding their differences can help you make an informed decision about which supplement best suits your needs. This comprehensive guide explores the distinctions between these two popular collagen forms and helps you determine which might be the right choice for your health goals. What are collagen peptides? Collagen peptides are small chains of amino acids derived from collagen proteins that have been broken down through a process called hydrolysis. This process transforms larger collagen molecules into smaller, more easily absorbed peptides, making them highly bioavailable for the human body. Unlike whole collagen proteins, collagen peptides can be readily dissolved in both hot and cold liquids, making them convenient for daily supplementation. The hydrolyzation process that creates collagen...

How Our Supplements Can Help Manage Menopause Symptoms

Understanding Menopause and Its Symptoms What Happens During Menopause? Menopause is a natural biological process that signifies the end of a woman's menstrual cycles and reproductive years. It is diagnosed after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period. Most women experience menopause between the ages of 45 and 55, but it can occur earlier or later. Menopause results from a decline in the ovaries' production of estrogen and progesterone. These hormonal shifts lead to a cascade of changes throughout the body, affecting the reproductive and cardiovascular systems. While menopause is a natural part of ageing, its symptoms can be challenging, affecting physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Recognising what happens during this transition can help women seek effective strategies, like supplements for menopause, to support their health. From Panic to Confidence: Elizabeth's Skin Transformation

I believe I aged overnight. I woke up one morning, in my mid-forties, shuffled to theloo, looked in the mirror and thought I’d had a mini-stroke in the night. Genuinely. My husband was working abroad, and I distinctly remember thinking I would get thekids to school first and then I would see what one was supposed to do after one hadsuffered a mini stroke in the night. Of course, by the time I got back to the house, I’dforgotten all about it – brain fog – but I soon remembered when I caught sight ofmyself again. I eventually calmed down and realised I was overreacting, of course I hadn’t had amini-stroke, but the difference in my face really was quite something. Everythingseemed to have gone just that little bit further south and my eyes seemed to haveretreated just that little bit further back into my head. Liquid Collagen UK: Your Guide to Glowing Skin and Healthy Joints- test

Collagen makes up about thirty percent of your body’s entire protein reserve, helping to hold bones, joints, and skin together. Liquid collagen gives elasticity to your skin, keeping it firm and helping prevent wrinkles. Plus, it cushions your joints, helps with mobility, and helps reduce pain as we age. Here’s what you need to know about liquid collagen. What Is Liquid Collagen? Liquid collagen is a protein supplement that supports the natural collagen that your body already makes. Liquid collagen is usually made from the connective tissue of other animals, including cows, pigs, and chickens. Kollo Health is premium-grade marine collagen from fish scales. Does Collagen Lead to Weight Gain? Separating Fact from Fiction

Collagen is an essential component for healthy skin, bones, and joints. It makes up about thirty percent of the protein in our bodies, functioning as a kind of “glue” to hold it all together. Over time, collagen production slows, leading to sagging or wrinkled skin and uncomfortable joints. Certain foods can help produce collagen; these include eggs, chicken, fish, bone broth, and leafy greens. None of these are particularly high in calories. Adding something like liquid collagen to your diet is a more effective way to boost this vital element and is calorie-free. In short, collagen doesn’t cause weight gain. Understanding Collagen: What Is It and Why Do We Use It? Collagen is a form of protein that helps hold our body together – literally. It helps form the connective tissue that keeps skin and muscles firm, and our joints more elastic and comfortable. As we get older, our bodies don’t make...

What is Kollo Health's Liquid Collagen?

Our daily liquid marine collagen supplement has been developed to support healthy skin, reduce wrinkles while also helping to maintain the health of teeth, gums, joints, and bones. Created to provide nutritional support from the inside out, Kollo Health's Premium Liquid Marine Collagen helps the body to naturally produce more collagen, as well as providing support for the heart, brain, immune system, and energy levels.

Each 21.5g sachet of Kollo Health's Premium Liquid Marine Collagen contains 10,000 mg of premium type 1 marine collagen peptides. Liquid collagen is more bioavailable, meaning that it can be absorbed faster and easier by the body. With our multi-award-winning formula, Kollo Health's Premium Liquid Marine Collagen provides the highest strength daily dose of liquid collagen on the market today.

Each box contains 14 sachets, which is a 2-week supply.

How does it work?

Kollo Health’s Premium Liquid Marine Collagen, being bioavailable, absorbs more rapidly than tablets and powders. Its quick absorption is supported by clinical studies, indicating its efficacy.

What are the key Ingredients ?

Hydrolysed Marine Collagen serves as the cornerstone of Kollo Health’s Premium Liquid Marine Collagen. This key ingredient undergoes hydrolysis, breaking collagen into smaller, more easily absorbed peptides. It is derived from marine sources and is rich in amino acids, promoting skin, hair, and joint health. The hydrolysis enhances bioavailability, ensuring quicker absorption compared to non-hydrolysed forms, contributing to the effectiveness of this supplement.

What are the benefits of taking Kollo Health's Marine Collagen?

Clinical studies of Kollo Health’s Premium Liquid Marine Collagen peptides indicate that benefits may include:

  • Improvement of general skin health
  • Prevention of deep wrinkle formation
  • Minimisation of fine lines
  • Increased skin suppleness and hydration, firmness and elasticity
  • Promotion of healthy hair and strong nails
  • Promotion of healthy joints
How long does it take to see results?

Clinical studies indicate that a daily 10,000 mg of collagen intake can yield noticeable benefits within 4-6 weeks. This timeframe suggests a positive impact on skin, hair, nails, and joint health.

How is it different to other collagen?

Kollo Health's collagen stands as the market leader, boasting over 25 industry awards, clinical studies affirming its efficacy, and certification by Informed-Choice. With an impressive 10,000 mg of collagen per serving, it exemplifies a commitment to quality and innovation, making it a trusted choice for those seeking top-tier collagen supplementation.

Can taking a collagen supplement improve hair?

Collagen is rich in the essential amino acids that your body needs to build a protein called alpha-keratin, which makes up hair. By supporting and increasing the body’s hair building proteins, collagen supplements may help to promote healthier hair.

Why is Kollo Health's collagen a liquid and not tablet form?

Liquid collagen supplements have a smaller molecular structure than solid supplements, making them easier to absorb by the body than solids. Kollo Health's Marine Collagen has been designed in liquid form to deliver a higher level of collagen and other nutrients faster and more effectively into the bloodstream.
