Meet Elizabeth
Elizabeth Joseph – The Menopause Guinea Pig
Hello, I’m Elizabeth Joseph a freelance writer, columnist and menopause speaker. I have also recently become a classic, pro-age model in my fifties. Not to mention a social media midlife influencer, known as The Menopause Guinea Pig, on Instagram.
This midlife reinvention was prompted by rage. A rage that perimenopause was such a taboo subject, when I stumbled into it in my forties, that I initially thought I had an auto-immune disease and early dementia. I no longer felt like myself and, as few women were speaking openly about their experiences at that time, I thought it was just me struggling in this way.
Determined that no other woman should enter this stage in life surrounded by a deafening wall of silence, I became a menopause guinea pig – trying out all manner of natural approaches and products available out there and some that were truly ‘out there’. From womb massage to cacao ceremonies through cold water swimming and numerous supplements via mouth taping, tapping, turmeric and Tabasco, not to mention period pants and fart pants, I have tried them all.
I detail my exploits in my column in Platinum magazine, in my talks, and on Instagram - looking at ways to tackle symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, itchy skin, epic wind, disrupted sleep, mood swings, lack of joy, muscle pain, aching joints, irregular periods, brain fog, skin issues and more epic wind.
When I first tried Kollo Health, I didn’t hold out much hope of seeing any positive results. I had already tried two other brands of collagen, only a month’s supply, and hadn’t noticed any changes – except maybe a slight lessening of my ever present epic wind.
After trying Kollo Health for a month, I felt similarly disheartened. In fact, I was almost two months in before my husband noticed a change in my skin. He rather gallantly informed me it ‘looked like the bodywork of a car after all the small dents had been pushed out’. More ‘compliments’ followed, notably from my sister who I hadn’t seen for a couple of months; my favourite coming from my teenage son who told me skin was looking ‘happier’ than usual.
I still feel a bit daft modelling in my fifties, but Kollo Health has really boosted my confidence. My skin is clearer and healthier than it has been in years, with a noticeable natural glow. I’m also aware that my make-up goes on, and stays on, much better.
I have tried and tested hundreds of products. I usually stop and move on to the next thing. I shan’t be stopping with Kollo Health.
I’m over the moon to be an ambassador.
