Menopause Supplements Support for Every Stage

The short answer

Kollo Balance+ is a daily liquid sachet formulated for perimenopause and menopause. It combines KSM-66® ashwagandha, lion's mane, sage and magnesium with vitamins including B6, which contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity, and folate, which contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Many customers take it alongside Kollo Marine Collagen, because collagen loss speeds up as oestrogen falls. It is a food supplement, not a replacement for HRT.

Menopause supplements: frequently asked questions

What is in Kollo Balance+?

Balance+ contains KSM-66® ashwagandha, lion's mane mushroom, sage, magnesium, and a vitamin complex including B6, B12, folate and vitamin D, in one apple and blackcurrant flavoured liquid sachet. Our complete guide to menopause supplements explains what each ingredient is for.

Can I take menopause supplements with HRT?

Many women do, but check with your GP or menopause specialist first, particularly if you also take thyroid medication, antidepressants or blood thinners, as some botanicals can interact. Balance+ is a food supplement and is not a replacement for HRT. See taking menopause supplements with HRT.

What does ashwagandha do for menopause?

KSM-66® ashwagandha is an adaptogen studied for its effects on stress, sleep quality and cortisol. Small trials in perimenopausal women have reported improvements in overall symptom scores. Read what makes KSM-66 different and ashwagandha for menopause.

Does sage help with hot flushes?

Sage has been used traditionally for sweating and hot flushes, and a small number of studies have reported fewer and milder flushes with sage extract. The evidence is limited, so treat it as supportive rather than a treatment. See sage for menopause.

Does collagen help during menopause?

Collagen production falls sharply as oestrogen declines, which is why skin, hair, nails and joints often change during perimenopause and menopause. Hydrolysed marine collagen at 10g a day has been studied for skin hydration and elasticity, and many customers pair Balance+ with Kollo Marine Collagen. See menopause and collagen.

When should I start taking a menopause supplement?

Perimenopause can begin in the early 40s, often before periods change, so many women start when symptoms such as poor sleep, low energy, brain fog or mood changes appear. Our perimenopause supplements guide covers what to look for at each stage.

How long before I notice a difference?

Vitamins such as B6 and folate support energy from the first weeks. Adaptogens such as ashwagandha were typically studied over 6 to 8 weeks, so give Balance+ at least two months of daily use before judging.

Who should not take Balance+?

Balance+ is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Ashwagandha may not be suitable for people with thyroid conditions or autoimmune conditions, or alongside sedatives. If you have a medical condition or take medication, speak to your GP first.
