From Panic to Confidence: Elizabeth's Skin Transformation
I believe I aged overnight. I woke up one morning, in my mid-forties, shuffled to the
loo, looked in the mirror and thought I’d had a mini-stroke in the night. Genuinely.
My husband was working abroad, and I distinctly remember thinking I would get the
kids to school first and then I would see what one was supposed to do after one had
suffered a mini stroke in the night. Of course, by the time I got back to the house, I’d
forgotten all about it – brain fog – but I soon remembered when I caught sight of
myself again.
I eventually calmed down and realised I was overreacting, of course I hadn’t had a
mini-stroke, but the difference in my face really was quite something. Everything
seemed to have gone just that little bit further south and my eyes seemed to have
retreated just that little bit further back into my head.
Perimenopause often arrives unannounced, during a time of great stress. I could
write ten more pages detailing the stress I was under at that point in my life – but I
will spare you. However, I do believe that stress plus perimenopause took their toll
on my face.
I had to start educating myself, as there was little literature out there at the time.
Menopause remained a taboo, and perimenopause was a completely new word to
me.
Fast forward eight years and thanks to upping my water intake, overhauling my diet,
findings ways to manage my stress levels, adding some self-care into my life, and
discovering Kollo Collagen I have transformed my skin - a real game changer.
Standing in front of that mirror, with the weight of the world on my shoulders, staring
in dismay at my face, I could never have imagined that I would be putting myself out
there, modelling in my fifties, and loving my skin.
